Photo realistic 3D rendering

by admin on May.21, 2009, under Technology

Photo realistic 3D rendering is not just for fun and relaxation. It is a big business. Many industries use photo-realistic renderings. These include areas such as cinema and film, interior design, graphic design and product design.

What is ray tracing? This technique for producing an image by pursuing the path of light through a pixel in the image plane. The technique can produce images of greater realism than scan line rendering methods

In the past, Ray tracing is a very high quality and advanced. However, it is no longer the case. Rendering and virtualization technologies have addressed the state of hyper-realism. In the hyper-realism, rendering, and physical reality are very difficult to distinguish. Since many systems and rendering algorithms are physically correct in terms of simulation and calculation.

The latest technology for photo-realistic rendering, had the ray tracing core is exceeded global illumination. What is global illumination? It is a collective term for various technologies (including raytracing and radiosity) that are used to produce realistic renderings directly from the calculations and indirect lighting. Global illumination includes algorithms that take into account not only the light directly from light sources but also when light rays from these sources are indirectly reflected by other surfaces in the 3D environment.

Technology for the realistic representation of global illumination is the use of HDRI environment maps. HDRI stands for High Dynamic Range Imaging. This technology allows a greater dynamic range of exposure techniques to make digital standard, producing true to life imaging.
